Disulfiram 500 mg Tablets are used to support the treatment of alcohol dependence (or alcohol addiction). It helps to quit the habit of alcoholism in patients who have a habit of drinking excessive alcohol (chronic alcoholism).

- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with water. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet.
- Usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning.
- It should only be started after at least 12 hours of abstinence from alcohol.
Disulfiram helps in reducing alcohol dependence. It acts by blocking the actions of certain enzymes (such as aldehyde dehydrogenase) within the body that help in breaking down a substance called acetaldehyde.
