This bilayered tablet works through two complementary mechanisms. The immediate-release layer (300 mg) is rapidly absorbed to provide quick relief from pain and fever. The sustained-release layer (700 mg) releases paracetamol gradually, maintaining a long-lasting therapeutic effect. Paracetamol reduces pain and fever by blocking prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center.
