BECLOMETHASONE+CLOTRIMAZOLE is used to treat fungal infections, such as ringworm of the foot (tinea pedis or athlete's foot), ringworm of the groin (tinea cruris or jock itch), and ringworm of the body (tinea corporis). Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include skin rash, irritation, redness, and scaling of the skin.
BECLOMETHASONE+CLOTRIMAZOLE is composed of two medicines: Clotrimazole (antifungal) and Beclomethasone (steroid). Clotrimazole stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Beclomethasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids, which blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. Thereby, BECLOMETHASONE+CLOTRIMAZOLE helps treat fungal infections.
