Chloramphenicol 125 mg / 5 ml Oral Suspension is an antibiotic that fights bacteria. It is used to treat certain types of serious infections caused by bacteria when other antibiotics cannot be used. It works by killing the bacteria that cause these problems. However, it will not treat a viral infection.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use.
Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria. It does so by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. This does not directly kill the bacteria, but prevents them from increasing in numbers, and eventually clears up the infection.
