Gamma benzene hexachloride is an ectoparasiticide that kills mites and lice by penetrating the skin and affecting their nervous system. This causes the parasites to become paralyzed and die. GBHC is used to treat scabies and pediculosis in patients who can't take other safer medicines or for whom other medicines have not worked.
