Glycolic acid, derived from sugarcane, is the most commonly used, ranging in concentration from 20% to 70%. GA produces exfoliation by decreasing the cohesion of corneocytes, and increases both collagen type I and HA deposition. It provides the additional benefit of degreasing and works well on oily skin.
