Ofloxacin is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections affecting your lungs, skin, and urinary tract (the kidneys, bladder, etc). It works by stopping the growth of bacteria that causes infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Ofloxacin can cause side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or become worse. Avoid activities that require mental focus like driving vehicles and operating machines as this medicine may cause dizziness. Ofloxacin can be taken with or without food as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Complete the whole course of treatment for maximum benefit and to prevent the risk of re-infection.
