Salicylic acid is used in the treatment of wart infections. The mechanism by which it treats wart infection is quite similar to its keratolytic action. It dehydrates the skin cells affected by warts when applied to it, thereby gradually shedding them off the body. Cetyl Alcohol + Stearyl Alcohol contains two ingredients. Cetyl alcohol works by preventing water loss from the outer layer of skin. This relieves dryness and leaves the skin soft and hydrated. Stearyl alcohol works by forming a layer over the skin and preventing water loss from the surface of the skin.
